This is a delicious and very easy chicken dish – fantastic served with cabbage and rice!

Ingredients:

  • 1 red onion
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 chicken, cut into six pieces, skin removed and reserved
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Method:

  1. Heat vegetable oil and fry onions until translucent
  2. Add cloves, salt, turmeric, ginger, and garlic and fry for another two minutes
  3. Add chicken parts and a few pieces of skin and brown the meat, turning frequently
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover, cook until tender about 30-45 minutes
